Extrusion

Plastic is without question an extremely versatile material, which offers a wide range of benefits. Historically however, plastic recycling has been criminally neglected. Happily, the signs of the times have been recognised, as plastic is now simply too valuable not to be reused.

Extrusion

In order to preserve natural resources – in this case crude oil – in the manufacture of plastics, and also to minimise the consequences for the environment of improper disposal, recycling has assumed a crucial importance.

Packaging, plastic bottles and other products sent for recycling are nowadays processed into new polymer parts. Steel mesh sieves are used to filter particles of dirt and other foreign bodies from this heated and homogenous mass.

Our sieving meshes don’t just perform reliably in recycling processes. Alongside the extrusion of plastic as a primary raw material – as an example, our extruder sieves play an integral role in the manufacture of window frames - ceramics are also extruded in the manufacture of catalytic convertors, in order to guarantee a consistent and uniform shape.

We manufacture our extruder sieves in all shapes and sizes, ranging from single layer 45mm diameter circular sieves through to large ‚kidney sieves‘ or ‚trapezoidal sieves‘ as screen packs with up to five layers, which are usually spot welded together.
