Glass and Ceramic Printing

The oldest glass artefacts come from the Middle East and date back to 3500 BC. Glass has always been prized for its excellent malleability, hygiene, recyclable properties, transparency and so much more. And it can be printed! Ideally using BOPP screen printing meshes.

Glass can be inscribed in many different ways – either by labels, colour, engraving, etching or by screen printing. In this process, the motif is applied to the substrate using an extremely fine mesh and then fired at temperatures between 500 and 800 degrees. The colour then bonds with the glass and becomes resistant to abrasion, chemical and thermal attack.

The finer the screen printing mesh used, the more delicate is the motif that can be printed. For volume printing, the combination of long service life and precision are of particular importance. Our steel meshes provide the ideal solution to meet the triple challenges for mesh used in the process.

To best meet the challenges of modern screen printing processes, we offer a dedicated range of screen printing meshes. Under the BOPP GP banner, we have developed a range of steel meshes designed specifically for practical applications printing on glass and ceramics. GP meshes also provide the ideal solution for printing with thermoplastic inks.

We have customers in the perfume industry; our customer base also includes high value spirits distilleries, ceramics manufacturers and breweries
